C.M. Sperberg-McQueen

C.M. Sperberg-McQueen is a member of the technical staff at the World Wide Web Consortium, where he serves as co-chair with Dave Hollander of both the XML Schema Working Group and the XML Coordination Group. He has a Ph.D. in comparative literature but strayed into computing as a student and never strayed back out. With Lou Burnard (Oxford) he edited the Text Encoding Initiative's Guidelines for Electronic Text Encoding and Interchange (1994), and with Tim Bray (Textuality), and Jean Paoli (Microsoft) he served as editor of the XML 1.0 language specification.
