Saxon/C 1.1.0 Released

September 28, 2017

Submitted by O'Neil Delpratt.

We are pleased to announce the release of Saxon/C 1.1.0: released on Linux, Mac OS X and Windows. Saxon/C Project page

This release is a significant one in that we have updated the core XSLT/XQuery/Schema processor to the Java Saxon 9.8.0.4 version. We have added support for the PHP7 distribution and added support for user defined functions: Users can now write their functions in C++/PHP and invoke them directly in XSLT, XQuery and XPath.  See full release notes Also see: https://saxonica.plan.io/projects/saxon-c/issues filter by Fixed in version= ‘1.1.0' and status = ‘Closed'. See the Saxon/C documentation and the PHP API

Saxon/C is a cross-compiled variant of Saxon from the Java platform to the C/C++ platform. We have ported all the features of Saxon other than those like collations that are necessarily platform dependent. In particular it provides processing in XSLT, XQuery and XPath and Schema validation. It therefore gives capabilities to other languages that are strongly coupled to C/C++ such as PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby, node.js.

We offer the commercial products in addition to the open source Saxon-HE under Saxon/C: Namely Saxon-HE/C, Saxon-PE/C and Saxon-EE/C.
